Hull City are close to landing Cardiff City defender Matthew Connolly on loan for the remainder of the season.
Head coach Nigel Adkins admitted yesterday that a deal had been struck to sign a Premier League centre-back and it is understood the target in City’s sights is Connolly.
The 31-year-old has been told he can leave Cardiff this month ahead of his contract expiring in the summer and the centre-back is known to be keen on sealing a move to the KCOM Stadium next week.

Sky Sports News expects Cardiff City defender Matthew Connolly to complete his loan move to Hull later today.
Sources have told us he completed a medical on Humberside yesterday, after a frustrating season where Connolly has only made one start under Neil Warnock - that was in the EFL Cup back in August.
