L'absence d'Olivier Giroud pour affronter Cardiff City, mercredi (16h00) lors de la 20e journée de Premier League, a relancé les questions concernant l'éventuelle arrivée d'un avant-centre à Arsenal. Durant l'été, Arsène Wenger avait échoué à faire venir Luis Suarez. Le manager des Gunners ne va pas retenter sa chance cet hiver. C'est ce qu'il a affirmé mardi, en conférence de presse. «Il n'y aura pas d'approche» pour l'attaquant uruguayen, qui a prolongé il y a quelques jours son contrat avec Liverpool jusqu'en 2018.
Zusammenfassung: Wenger wollte Suarez letzten Sommer verpflichten. Daraus ist nichts geworden. Wenger hat nun auf Nachfrage der Presse bekanntgegeben, dass es keinen neuen Anlauf (via Angebot) Richtung Suarez / Liverpool geben wird. Grund dafür scheint auch die Vertragsverlängerung von Suarez bis 2018 zu sein.
