Tottenham want Patson Daka - RB Salzburg: "Not our plan to sell him"

Red Bull Salzburg had no mercy, the Austrian Bundesliga champions smashed Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz 10-0 in the first round of the ÖFB-Cup. Striker Patson Daka, in particular, stood out, the Zambian would score four goals in what was a convincing start to the season for the Red Bulls. But whether Daka will be staying in Salzburg this season remains to be seen. 

A report by football.london has linked the 21-year-old forward with a move to the Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs manager José Mourinho wants to bring in a new striker and has among others looked at Arkadiusz Milik (Napoli) as well as Habib Diallo (FC Metz). Daka and his ability to play multiple positions and next to another typical number 9, like he did when he played with Erling Haaland last season, have put the 21-year-old at the very top of Mourinho's wishlist. 

Daka, however, has been in high demand all summer. In July, Lille were interested in the forward and had a €30 million offer turned down. Reports out of Austria also indicate that Manchester United are interested in the forward. Then there is Salzburg's sister club RB Leipzig, the German Bundesliga side could once again look to Salzburg to fill a void and bring in a striker. Any side wanting to sign the forward would face stiff opposition, however. "It isn't our plan to sell him," sporting director Christoph Freund said at the time. "We have big goals with him."
