Tiago Tomás to stay in Stuttgart - Kalajdzić deal to determine long-term future?

Tiago Tomás will not return from VfB Stuttgart to Sporting this summer. German magazine kicker reported that the Portuguese striker will not be forced to return to Sporting this summer. Reports have suggested that his parent club will recall the 19-year-old but with the club staying in the league Tomás will not be returning to Portugal. Stuttgart have an option to make the transfer permanent for €15 million next summer when Tomás' loan is set to expire.

Stuttgart could generate the necessary funds by selling Saša Kalajdzić and Borna Sosa. The former has been heavily linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich where he could become part of the solution to replace striker Robert Lewandowski. Italian side Fiorentina wanted to sign Sosa last winter but Stuttgart turned down a potential transfer. Interest in the left-back is understood to be high with clubs from the Premier League and Bundesliga monitoring the situation.

Tomás has been in excellent form since joining Stuttgart in the summer. Considered one of the most talented strikers in German football, the 19-year-old has scored four goals in 14 Bundesliga games and played a significant part in the club's successful attempt to fight off relegation.

Mavropanos set to stay - Arsenal receive €3.2 million 

The Portuguese wunderkind will not be the only player to stay in Stuttgart. The Swabians are also expected to trigger the purchase option in Konstantinos Mavropanos' loan agreement. That deal will earn Arsenal an additional €3.2 million. Another player to stay is Hiroki Ito. The Japanese defender will be bought for €400,000 from the Japanese club Jubilo Iwata.
